Two paid M.S. positions available.

Two paid M.S. positions available for up to 2 years.

Two paid Master Student (M.S.)  positions are available as a part of the “Computational nonlinear spectroscopy with a hybrid quantum deep autoencoder”  project at Middle East Technical University

Thesis subject 1: “Implementing collective dynamics of electrons in parabolic quantum wells under the action of a uniform time-dependent electric field in a quantum computer.”

Thesis subject 2: “Physics-informed neural networks for efficient encoding of ab-initio DFT density matrices for quantum computers.”

The M.S. candidates are expected to have a degree(s) in closely related
field(s) and experience with computational techniques. Good communication skills in English are required. The initial appointment will be for one year with possible extension to two years.

Previous experience on Quantum Computers will be a plus.

For “Thesis subject 1”, experience with Hamiltonian simulation techniques and mathematical physics will be an advantage. Additionally experience programming Quantum Computers is  a significant advantage.

For “Thesis subject 2”  Experience with Python and/or Fortran is required. Additional experience on neural networks, especially autoencoders will be considered as an advantage.
